San 6(Denim Needle - Titanium) San 11(Multi-Directional - Titanium & Steel/Chrome) Ball Point (T-Shirt Quilts - Steel/ Chrome)
Needles can be confusing, to best help in choosing the best needle for your project, below is explained in the most simple way possible.
First off Groz-Beckert bought the Singer Needle company. So the needles you purchase will eventually all be new packaging (green box with individual needle compartments)
Some quilting projects will require different needles. Many threads you purchase will have needle requirements for the size of needle to use with that thread.
To narrow it down in 3 categories
San 11 (multi-directional needle), San 6 (denim needle) and Ball Point (used for those T-shirt quilts, or fabrics that are uncooperative)
Different Coatings
Titanium Nitride - gold looking needle -very strong needle - more expensive
